Digital Pedagogies-Powerpoints and Prezi

During school, powerpoint presentations and technology in general were somthing I avoided. When asked to do group presentation I would gladley write the entire assignment and have someone else do the powerpoint. During my scholling a had little knowledge on powerpoint and how to utilise this tool. After studying this weeks reading I have designed my own powerpoint for other university courses and I am begining to understand the tools involved.

These tools have been quite benificial to me with relation to my learning styles. I am a linguistic learning, pictures, text and videos help me process and remember information. These tools are a great idea for group activities. Each student gets a chance to create their own own slide and each make a contribution to the assignment.

Tools such as Powerpoint and prezi in classroom can be both benificial and problamatic.

In conclusion, I believe powerpoint and Prezi can be a wonderful resources in the classroom for both teacher and learner when used in moderation. Powerpoint and Prezi can accomodates all learning styles and suits our

modern day technology based economy. Powerpoint and Prezi can help students and teachers explain abstract and difficult ideas whilst maintain interest. This tool is wonderful for collaborative work in the classroom and for assignments.
